Yurii D. Borshch, MD

Dr. Borshch obtained his Fellowship in Pain Management and completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He later practiced as an assistant professor and Chronic Pain Clinic Director at The Department of Anesthesiology at Queen’s University, Kingston, ON, Canada for seven years, and in private practice for three years in upstate New York. Before moving to North America, Dr. Borshch practiced as a general surgeon in the former USSR.

John Hartman, MD
Dr. Hartman was born in Tacoma, Washington near Fort Lewis and grew up in a military family.
They would eventually settle down in Central Texas near Fort Hood. He attended Texas A&M University and is a proud member of the Fightin’ Aggie Class of 2011. He completed his degree
in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a Neuroscience minor magna cum laude and developed a passion for neuroscience research with a focus in learning, memory, and how acute/chronic
pain states can undermine recovery after spinal cord injury.

Carrie Curiel, NP
Carrie Curiel is the Nurse Practitioner at Precision Spine and Pain Management, providing care to the patients based out of the Westover Hills location. She has specialized in spine and neurosurgery for her entire nursing career, beginning in the hospital setting on a neuro-cardiac floor before moving to the office setting to work for a neurosurgical office for the next 5 years.

She then moved on to further her career and education, obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing degree from UT Health in San Antonio.

Elizabeth Appiah, NP
Elizabeth Appiah APRN, FNP-C was born in Jefferson City, Missouri and spent most of her childhood in St. Louis MO. She is an active-duty military spouse and has lived in many states throughout the country, calling TX her new home.

Elizabeth graduated from UMSL in 2009 with a bachelor’s in communication and a minor in education. She spent the first 2-3 years of her career teaching ESL on the border of Juarez, Mexico. In 2020, Elizabeth decided to change career fields and pursue a degree in medicine. Elizabeth completed her bachelor's in nursing in 2022 at MGHIHP and her master's in nursing at Simmons University in 2024. She gained vast patient care experience while completing clinicals at Massachusetts General Hospital during the height of COVID.
